G-DNA: The Helix That Holds Both Shape and Story

Introduction

Nothing in nature is random – not even the shape of DNA. It is the code of life, firm yet flexible. And it is precisely this double helix that became the inspiration for G-DNA – an experimental table from the Grain of Design studio.

G-DNA is not just a piece of furniture. It is a design metaphor. Organic elegance meets the boldness of the Memphis style – a radical movement that in the 80s broke down established conventions and rewrote the language of forms.

Concept Description

The table's body consists of precisely shaped wood and MDF, twisted into a fluid spiral. The surface treatment combines matte and gloss – light glides across the surface like a wave, emphasizing dynamics and changing the perception of form.

The powder-coated steel base functions as a gravitational anchor. It is calm, quiet – and thanks to it, the entire spiral can rise upward without losing balance.

The color palette is not random. Salmon, mint, gold, black, and cream – each color has its role. Together they create harmony that is both distinctive and balanced.

What does G-DNA mean for the Grain of Design brand?

It is a manifesto.

Design that is bold but not loud. Organic but not romanticized. Playful but with a deep foundation in structure and thinking.

G-DNA is a reminder that even construction can have a soul. That form can carry meaning. And that design can tell a story – in every turn of the spiral.

• Hidden metal screws protected by plastic sleeves
• → Invisible joints ensure clean appearance without disturbing details
