How Pagáč Began

1. The First Chapter of Pagáč’s Saga

We hadn’t planned him.

We wanted a Moravian koláč or a doughnut — something sweet and familiar.

Instead, Pagáč appeared.

He didn’t announce himself. He simply appeared on the moodboard, sat right in the middle, and wouldn’t leave us alone.

He was different.
He was ridiculous and brilliant at the same time.

And so we welcomed him. Adopted him.

From that moment on, there was no turning back —
Pagáč began travelling, growing and laughing with us.

And today?

He has become a symbol of Grain of Design, belonging to everyone who can see beauty even in mistakes.

2. Where Pagáč First Rose

Pagáč wasn’t born in Moravia, as many people think.

His first rise began in Turkey. He tasted Hungarian spices and eventually travelled to Slovácko and Slovakia, where he settled to catch his breath and gather strength for his global expedition.

He isn’t just a pastry.

He is a borderless traveller who knows how to transform — sometimes a panelák minimalist, sometimes an Alpine bohemian, and sometimes an Oktoberfest fashion icon in lederhosen.

And now?

He is travelling with Grain of Design.

Without a homeland, but at home in every country where his crumbs appear.

The map isn’t cartographically accurate, but neither is Pagáč — he’s simply delicious.
