…or how Pagáč hardened into legend

Easter Islands
The mysterious history and culture of the indigenous Rapa Nui people, remote location in the Pacific Ocean, and unique landscape.

Originally, we wanted a stylish moodboard with the island, extinct volcanoes, and remote beaches.

But our round, bewildered, crustily poetic Pagáč, upon seeing the Moai statues, hardened
and uttered what has become his famous line:

"Someone was here before me... and probably baked."

Discovery No. 265 – Easter Island, west sector:

Statue of an unknown baker with prominent suspenders and sourdough crust.
Estimated age: unknown.
Reason for presence: evidently baked.

"Face of time. Dough of eternity. Pagáč of stone – yet of sourdough."

• Grey – moai statues
• White – coral eyes of statues, sand
• Green – meadows, hills
• Blue – Pacific Ocean
• Black, brown, reddish-brown – volcanic rocks
• Red – pukao (statue caps from red volcanic rock)
