Not every idea is born to be built tomorrow.
You are looking into my sketchbook.
This is not a finished project. It is a captured thought.
It is an experiment.
It is a reflection.
It is a way of thinking.
What if Bauhaus moved not into furniture, but onto a plate?
What if dessert were not decoration, but pure geometry – and a café worked as a small laboratory of shape, material and flavour?
This is my sketchbook.
A place where ideas have the right to still be unfinished.
Café Bauhaus × KonstrukTorte
Design begins with a feeling and a structure.
Instead of classic sweetness and decorative embellishment, imagine absolute clarity and discipline of form. A calm space where architecture steps back and creates a stage for a visual and sensory ritual.
Starting Elements and Mood
- concrete and a cement floor
- black tubular lighting – minimalist lines carried through the space
- a white bench, black details and typography, glass
- primary accents: a yellow square, a blue circle, a red triangle
When Architecture Enters the Plate
“Form follows flavour.”
Imagine walls in a soft concrete shade and light directed only in precise pools and planes. In the centre of the space stands a display case framed by a single thin black line.
The case does not contain sweets alone. It contains geometric catering inspired by the visual language of Bauhaus.
Bauhaus Dessert Objects™ – each one a small piece of architecture on a matt stainless-steel tray.
The interior becomes a quiet background where honest structure can stand out: a cement floor, black tubular ceiling lights, a simple white bench and only a few primary geometric accents.
A yellow square, a blue circle, a red triangle – not random decoration, but an authorial response to the visual language of early modernism.
Desserts become small architectural objects. A circle, a prism, a cylinder, a clean cut, a strictly limited colour palette.
Ideally, each portion is exactly one or two bites – so that instead of sugary monumentality, the guest receives a concentrated shape and a clear flavour.
Ritual Detail: The Hidden Text Beneath the Cup
Every concept lives in its details, and the sketchbook naturally branches further – from the display case to the act of sitting down.
Visual discipline carries into the service. Clean white cups, restrained black typography, a geometrically precise saucer.
And then a small moment of surprise: text hidden directly on the surface beneath the cup.
A detail that appears only when you lift the cup to drink. Exactly the kind of small gesture that transforms an ordinary coffee ritual into a living experience.
“Eat clean. Think clearly.”
KonstrukTorte
construction, cake, revolution
And then comes the moment when the visual language of Bauhaus becomes a pure sensory experience.
KonstrukTorte.
No unnecessary layers, no excess sugar. Only a strict composition of textures.
A matt surface in the colour of a raw plaster cast.
Inside, an architecture of flavours: a sharp geometric cut, a delicate chocolate raster and a sour accent of sea buckthorn or passion fruit.
And on top...
just one detail.
A thin, perfectly straight tablet of dark chocolate forming a strict right angle.
Not as decoration.
But as a spatial element.
This is a process. From an architectural sketch, through the search for form, to the moment when a spoon finally interrupts the strict geometry.
The Last Line
Café Bauhaus is not a proposal for a real café.
It is a question addressed to design: how few elements do we need to create a strong identity? And can a dessert be as disciplined as a chair?
Ideas do not have to stand in concrete and steel immediately. Sometimes it is enough for them to open a door into an entirely new way of perceiving space.
Not every design is created to be made immediately.
Some are created to find the right moment.
Less sugar. More structure.
Open Design Partnership
Some ideas take shape in a single afternoon.
Others wait until they meet the right person.
This design is one of them.
If it has caught your attention and you see potential for further development – whether in interior concept, gastro-design or visual identity – I would be glad to develop it with a partner who sees the same potential.
